day?

I guess I'll figure out the count someday...Day 365 seems like an easy place to rejoin it.

Yesterday, the dog and I walked for 1.5 hrs and did two sets of stairs.
Today, I ran 5X 3 min, 1 min recovery. It was going to be 2 minute intervals again but I lost track of time on the first one, so I kept them all to 3...ish. My body still prefers the faster pace which helps somewhat in curtailing distance, at least--I tried jogging more slowly, but it felt too jarring. Part of the problem might be shoes. Up until this injury, I was running in race flat-type shoes, nice and light and bendy. But during this healing process, my foot seems to prefer more...something. I tried running in trail shoes today and that felt a bit better, but I might have to pick up a cheap pair of cushy stiff road shoes until my foot gets better. It feels fine now, and maybe what I'm feeling is merely disuse. Will see what's on sale.

day???

I'm back! It's been a while and many rocks and a few hapless lobsters and much laundry. And too much rain--every time we were in a tent (or yurt), it rained. It was a great trip, though!

Today, I ran 5X 2 min with 2 min recoveries, and then a slightly longer bit at the end to try to loosen up. My foot feels stiff but not sore. Running didn't feel as foreign as I'd feared, but I seemed unable to run slower than tempo effort. It just didn't work otherwise.

Total workout, mostly walking: 1 hr. Then situps--back to 40, but I guess it's progress not to start at 10 anymore, and yoga and stretching. I would like to work in push ups too. Those are usually the first thing to go! lol

I figure I'll take tomorrow off running--stairs instead.

Day :)

I've lost track of many things.

Recap: no, I didn't get to try that evening marathon after all because I hurt my foot running over loose rocks up North and then PF set in and then impatience and then all sorts of odd little tight areas...no running now because we'll be heading East soon for two weeks of hiking and ??? My foot feels a lot better now but I'll probably wait to run until we get back.
